Fayette voting changes noted
In addition to changing the primary early voting locale, early voting for the first time will be conducted at a second location — Montgomery City Hall — at the same time as in Fayetteville. Holliday says he’s worked with Montgomery city officials to make arrangement for voters to have a second early voting option. City officials have said they will help promote early voting to local residents. As of now, Holliday is still searching for a part-time relief person — affiliated with neither major political party — for Montgomery. Preference for filling the spot will go to a person who has previously worked the polls and who has proximity to the site in the county’s western end.Fayette County Clerk - News
Plans to accommodate Fayette County voters for the Oct. 4 special gubernatorial general election are taking shape. County Clerk Kelvin Holliday has announced a change in location for early voting, which will commence at 8 am on Sept. 21.
Approximately 175 voters will be impacted by a recent magisterial redistrict reapportioning conducted by an appointed board of three people, in addition to Madison County Clerk Kenny Barger. Barger gave the court a report about the board's findings.
The agenda includes reconsideration of the intergovernmental agreement with Fayette County for E-911 (minor revision), a Resolution to Censure Mayor Haddix, and the possible dissolution of the Development Authority of Peachtree City.

On 07/11/2011, at 12:14 p.m., Seneca County Sheriff’s Investigators arrested and charged Nancy N. Knight, age 54, of Gusty Lane, Seneca Falls, New York with Grand Larceny in the Third Degree and Official Misconduct. Knight is the Town of Fayette Tax Collector, Clerk and Registrar. The charges stem from an investigation that began on Friday, 07/08/2011. Fayette Town Supervisor Cindy Garlick- Lorenzetti reported to Sheriff’s Department Officials that there was suspicious activity by Knight regarding tax funds. The Sheriff’s Office responded immediately to the Town of Fayette Offices and began an investigation. It was discovered that Knight allegedly stole at least $3,100.00 in cash from tax payments made to the Town of Fayette. Knight cooperated with the investigation.
